Artist of the month May 2024: Sandy Craig

Sandy Craig is a Welsh artist and educator. She studied Fashion & Textiles and worked as a designer in London for 11 years before returning to Wales. She then lectured for 15 years in art & design, and now works as an independent educator alongside her own creative practice. Her work investigates the persisting identity of places and objects. She is drawn to those that exist beyond their expected time and function. Her practice involves drawing, painting, and printmaking, often interpreting the subject as it experiences change. Sandy has exhibited in the UK, USA, Australia, and New Zealand. Publications include the Imago Mundi catalogue of the Luciano Benetton Collection, ‘So Many Different Suns ~ Contemporary Artists from Wales’.
