An original painting by Leanne Cordingley-Wright. Abstract, inspired by Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s poem “Frost at Midnight”.
Painted on canvas size 60cm x 91cm in acrylic.
About the artist:
Leanne Cordingley-Wright studied design at Leeds College of Art, before going on to work as a graphic designer in Manchester.
Leanne began painting to free up her drawing and design skills and found it allowed her to explore more personal subjects. Leanne’s work focuses on ideas surrounding identity and memory. Through her painting she attempts to capture a fleeting moment’s recall of a memory, the sensation or touch of a moment and to investigate how these fragments come to create an illusion of self. As such although Leanne’s paintings are mainly abstract in appearance, Leanne usually considers her work to be figurative, or landscape, or else a direct representation of a felt moment.
Leanne now lives and works in Llanidloes, Powys where she runs the art and design practice, Studio Mayfly.
